Interaction between Alcohol and Metolar AM 50 Tablet
Taking Metolar AM 50 Tablet with alcohol can have severely harmful effects on your health.
Metolar AM is calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the movement of calcium into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac cells which inhibits the contraction of cardiac muscle and vascular smooth muscle and reduce electrical conduction within heart cell and dilate blood vessel. Dilation of the blood vessel reduces the blood pressure.
Metolar AM is a brand name of amlodipine. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called calcium channel blocker. It is available in solid oral dosage forms like tablet and capsule. It is used in the treatment of high blood pressure (high BP) and coronary artery disease. It is not recommended for heart failure. It is also used in the treatment of angina (chest pain).
Rarely, Metolar AM causes arrhythmia (Irregular heartbeat). However, if you experience any fluctuation in heart rate after consuming this drug, please inform to a doctor and follow his/her instructions.
