Interaction between Alcohol and Isolazine
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Isolazine with alcohol will be.
Yes, Isolazine may lower blood pressure (hypotension) in some cases. It is an uncommon side effect of this drug. However, if you are experiencing lightheadedness or dizziness which is a symptom of low blood pressure (hypotension) then you are advised to lay down immediately till it subsides if it worsens then inform your doctor without further delay.
Take Isolazine 2-3 times a day or as advised by your doctor. It has to be taken on an empty stomach because the presence of food might affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in patients with glaucoma, hypothyroidism, and improper liver or kidney function.
Isolazine contains isosorbide dinitrate which is a vasodilator. It works by causing relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and dilation of the blood vessels (vasodilation) which promotes increase in oxygen and blood supply to the heart this also reduces the workload of the heart (reduces preload and afterload).
Yes, you can take paracetamol and Isolazine together. No clinically significant drug interaction has been reported between them. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug along with paracetamol then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
