Elpod is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Urinary Tract Infection, Bronchitis. Secondary and off-label uses of Elpod have also been mentioned below.

There is no benefit of taking Elpod for mental disorders.
Interaction between Food and Elpod
You can take Elpod with food.
Interaction between Alcohol and Elpod
Due to lack of research, nothing can be said about side effects of consuming alcohol while taking Elpod.
Occasionally, Elpod can cause drug-induced hemolytic anemia (abnormal Red blood cell breakdown). However, if your blood reports are showing abnormal hemolytic anemia after taking this drug please discuss with your doctor.
Elpod works by inhibiting the growth of bacterial cell wall which is essential for the growth of bacteria. Hence, in this way, it prevents us from bacterial infection.
Elpod should be ideally taken with food(a light meal). Take this medicine in the required quantity and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Discontinuing the medicine in between may promote bacterial resistance which results in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. Incase you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
Avoid taking Elpod with azithromycin, because it can cause heart-related problems. However, if you are experiencing any discomfort after consuming these two medicines at the same time then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
Yes, Elpod is used to treat typhoid fever. It is a second-line treatment for typhoid fever. If other antibiotics are resistant to salmonella typhi then it is very effective to treat typhoid fever. However, it is best to consult your doctor about the right treatment for typhoid fever.
