Nagyl is a prescription drug, available for use as Syrup. Bacterial Infections, Stomach Infection, Amebiasis are some of its major therapeutic uses. Secondary and off-label uses of Nagyl have also been mentioned below.

The optimal dosage of Nagyl is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.

Nagyl also has some side effects, the most common being Nausea or vomiting, Headache. While these are the most often observed Nagyl side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Normally, these side effects of Nagyl are not long lasting and go away when the treatment is finished. Consult your doctor if these side effects become worse or stay for a longer duration.

It is also important to note that Nagyl has a Moderate effect for pregnant women and Severe effect on lactating mothers. Nagyl is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Liver Disease, Heart Disease, Peripheral Neuropathy are examples of such conditions. Other conditions have been mentioned below in the Nagyl contraindications section.
