Nagyl is a prescription drug, available for use as Syrup. Bacterial Infections, Stomach Infection, Amebiasis are some of its major therapeutic uses. Secondary and off-label uses of Nagyl have also been mentioned below.
The optimal dosage of Nagyl is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.
Nagyl also has some side effects, the most common being Nausea or vomiting, Headache. While these are the most often observed Nagyl side effects, there are can be others also. Yes, Nagyl and ibuprofen can be taken at the same time. There are no known drug interactions found between them.

No, Nagyl is not used directly to treat diarrhea. However, it is used to treat the symptoms of giardiasis (intestinal infection) such as dehydration from diarrhea.
Yes, Nagyl can cause constipation and other stomach related side effects such as nausea, abdominal cramps, and stomach discomfort. You are recommended to eat non-spicy light meals along with fibrous fruits to avoid constipation and other stomach related problems. However, in case of severe constipation please inform your doctor right away.
