Vominil contains metoclopramide which is an antiemetic agent that prevents from nausea and vomiting by inhibiting certain chemical messengers (neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin) in the brain. In diabetic gastroparesis, Vominil works by increasing gastrointestinal motility and fasting the gastric emptying process. In gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Vominil works by increasing lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tone which prevents the gastric contents to reach food pipe that causes symptoms associated with GERD.
Yes, Vominil can cause blood pressure fluctuations (such as hypertension or hypotension). However, it is a rare side effect of this drug which occurs in a few cases only. If you are already suffering from any heart disease then inform your doctor about it so that he may take precautions in advance.
