Unicain Information

Unicain is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Injection. Local Anesthesia are some of its major therapeutic uses. The alternative uses of Unicain have also been explained below.

The optimal dosage of Unicain is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.

The most common side effects of Unicain are Skin redness. While these are the most often observed Unicain side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Such side effects of Unicain normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.

Is Unicain used for premature ejaculation?

Yes, Unicain is used in combination with prilocaine for premature ejaculation. It improves sexual satisfaction and ejaculatory control by decreasing the sensation of the genital skin. It has no systemic effects and has minimum local side effects. Premature ejaculation can be psychological or biological. It could be because of over-sensitive genital skin, extreme arousal, infrequent sexual activity, hyperactive reflexes, fear, performance anxiety, use of alcohol and other substances, inflammation of the urethra, prostate, etc. In addition, it is also important to take treatment and comply with it completely.

Can Unicain cause an allergic reaction?

Yes, Unicain may cause an allergic reaction which might manifest as sneezing, wheezing, pruritis (severe itching of the skin), urticaria (localized swollen itchy area), episodes of angioneurotic edema (swelling of the lower layer of skin or mucous membranes and even anaphylactic shock (very severe allergic reaction). If you develop any of these symptoms while using Unicain, please inform your doctor immediately.
