Interaction between Alcohol and Taxalic
No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Taxalic with alcohol will be.
No, Taxalic alone should not be used for ringworm because it is a fungal infection of the skin caused by fungi such as Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum and Taxalic is not an antifungal agent and it is not effective against fungi. Hence Taxalic should not be used for the treatment of ringworm. For the treatment of ringworm, you can use a combination of Taxalic and antifungal drugs such as miconazole and fluconazole.
Yes, Taxalic might cause dry skin in few cases only. However, the exact cause behind dry skin is unknown. If you are experiencing excessive dryness of skin after applying this drug then you are advised to use a skin moisturizer. Skin moisturizer should be applied only after 30 minutes of applying this drug so that the Taxalic can be absorbed by the skin.
Yes, Taxalic might lighten skin because it causes skin atrophy (skin thinning) which reduces the darkness of the skin. However, Taxalic is not approved for skin lightening and should not be used for this purpose because it can cause unpleasant side effects.
Taxalic contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Taxalic prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
