T Val Cr works by relaxing the muscles of the body and suppressing abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain through an increase in activity of a chemical messenger known as GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) by inhibiting the enzymes which are responsible for the catabolism of GABA. It also exerts effect altering the sodium channel in the brain. It also works by stabilizing the potassium channel and cause a direct membrane-stabilizing effect. Thus, providing relief from the seizure and mania associated with bipolar disorder.
