    Practin is a brand name for Cyproheptadine. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called antihistamine (H1 receptor blocker). It also acts as a serotonin antagonist with anticholinergic and sedative effects. It is used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, urticaria, runny nose, sneezing, hay fever and other types of allergies. It is also used to treat allergic reaction arises due to blood infusion. It helps to relieve symptoms but will not treat cause of symptoms. It is also used for the treatment of Cushing's syndrome (abnormal condition that is caused by excess corticosteroid hormone).
