Poviclean is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Ointment, Solution. Poviclean also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.
Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Poviclean. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.
The most common side effects of Poviclean are Nausea or vomiting, Headache. Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Poviclean can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. These side effects of Poviclean are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. However, if these continue for a longer time, consult your doctor right away.
Poviclean's effect during pregnancy is Moderate and Moderate while nursing. In addition, Poviclean's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Poviclean related warnings section.
Poviclean is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Liver Disease, Heart Disease, Peripheral Neuropathy are examples of such conditions. The section on Poviclean contraindications lists all such conditions.

Poviclean can cause unwanted side effects in pregnant women. If you experience any side effects, stop taking Poviclean right away. Take your doctor's advice before taking it again.

Breastfeeding women may feel side effects of Poviclean. If you see any side effects, stop taking Poviclean immediately and talk to your doctor. Take Poviclean again, only after your doctor's advice.

No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Poviclean with alcohol will be.
No, Poviclean does not cause infertility. There is no evidence suggesting infertility in connection with this drug.
No, Poviclean is not used directly to treat diarrhea. However, it is used to treat the symptoms of giardiasis (intestinal infection) such as dehydration from diarrhea.
Yes, Poviclean and ibuprofen can be taken at the same time. There are no known drug interactions found between them.
Yes, Poviclean can cause constipation and other stomach related side effects such as nausea, abdominal cramps, and stomach discomfort. You are recommended to eat non-spicy light meals along with fibrous fruits to avoid constipation and other stomach related problems. However, in case of severe constipation please inform your doctor right away.
Poviclean acts on the DNA structure of bacterial and protozoan cells and disrupts its helical structure resulting in the death of bacteria and protozoa. Infections caused due to pathogens are eradicated completely when taken in prescribed dosage and duration.
