No, Pepdin is not an antacid. It belongs to the group of medicine called H2- receptor blocker which blocks the excess acid secretion in the stomach while antacid only neutralized the stomach acid by coating the stomach.
Pepdin contain famotidine. It works blocking certain receptors in the stomach (H2 receptors) which prevents the excessive secretion of stomach acid from gastric parietal cells. Hence in this way, Pepdin promotes healing of stomach ulcer and provides relief in acid reflux and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Pepdin is a brand name of famotidine. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drug called antihistamine (H2 receptor blocker). It inhibits the acid production in the stomach.
