Parkin is a brand name of trihexyphenidyl and it is available in the form of a tablet. It belongs to the class of drug known as anticholinergics. It is a prescription drug which is used to treat symptoms of the Parkinson's disease. It is also used to treat drug-induced abnormal body movements, restlessness, and muscle spasms.
Parkin contains trihexyphenidyl which is an anticholinergic drug that works through correcting the chemical imbalance in the brain by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter acetylcholine). Blockage of acetylcholine actions results in relaxation of smooth muscles which helps in improving the muscle control and reducing stiffness. In this way, Parkin provides relief to the patient from the symptoms of parkinsonism.
