Onsopil Information

Onsopil is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Injection, Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Nausea and Vomiting.

How to take Onsopil?

Onsopil is available in form of tablet, syrup, and injection. It should be taken as per your doctor's instructions. Ideally, Onsopil has to be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The initial dose is usually taken half an hour before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiation therapy and 1 hour before a surgery. Additional doses can be suggested by the doctor as per the individual requirements.

Yes, Onsopil is usually administered before and after surgery for treating post-anesthesia shivering (PAS) and nausea. PAS is a condition in which tremors of head, neck, trunk, shoulder, and extremities. It greatly reduces the quality of life of a patient since it causes discomfort and increases pain. It disturbs surgical care and increases the stress on cardiopulmonary functions. Hence as a precautionary measure, this medicine is administered to prevent unpleasant anesthetic effects.
