Niticort is a prescription drug, available for use as Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis. Other than this, Niticort has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.
The optimal dosage of Niticort is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. Refer to the dosage section for a detailed discussion.
Niticort also has some side effects, the most common being Skin Rash, Facial swelling, Muscle cramps or spasms (painful). While these are the most often observed Niticort side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Niticort go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. Consult your doctor if these side effects become worse or stay for a longer duration.
It is also important to note that Niticort has a Moderate effect for pregnant women and Unknown effect on lactating mothers. Is the use of Niticort safe for pregnant women?
Niticort may have some side effects during pregnancy. Pregnant women should discontinue the use of Niticort, and talk to their doctor, if they notice any discomfort.
Is the use of Niticort safe during breastfeeding?
No research work has been carried out till date on effect of Niticort on breastfeeding women. So it is not known whether taking Niticort will cause side effects or not.
What is the effect of Niticort on the Kidneys?
Niticort may cause harmful effects on kidney. if you feel its having any such effect, then stop taking this drug, and restart only on your doctor's advice.
What is the effect of Niticort on the Liver?
Niticort can have moderate side effects on the liver. If you notice any harmful effects then stop taking this drug right away. Consult your doctor before using this medicine again.
What is the effect of Niticort on the Heart?
There may be an adverse effect on the heart after taking Niticort. If you observe any side effects on your body then stop taking this drug. Restart this medicine only if your doctor advises you to do so.
