No research has been done on this till date. Therefore, it is not known what the effect of taking Nilol Hd with alcohol will be.
No, Nilol Hd is not approved for the treatment of insomnia (sleeplessness). Hence you are advised not to take this drug by yourself to induce sleep.
No, Nilol Hd does not cause diabetes. It has not been reported by the patients who are taking this drug.
Rarely, Nilol Hd causes joint pain. Its incident is not known. However, if you experience intense joint pain after taking this drug then you are advised to take some rest even after that it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Take Nilol Hd once or twice in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because of the presence of food does not affect its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, and improper liver or kidney function.
Nilol Hd contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
