Yes, Mocef can cause liver toxicity if taken in higher doses for a long time. You are advised to get regular liver function tests done to keep a check on proper liver functioning while taking this drug.
Discontinuing Mocef in between may promote resistance to bacteria which may result in a relapse of the infection.
