In fact, it can terminate a pregnancy of 49 days (7 weeks) duration or less safe but sometimes there are chances that it might not fully terminate the pregnancy and some remaining tissues from the abortion are left in the womb in these cases. But if you observe that the heavy bleeding is continuing for more than 2 hours or usage of a sanitary napkin is more than 2 pads every hour, then this situation warrants immediate hospitalization to recover from blood loss. In case of incomplete or unsuccessful abortion, you may require surgical procedures. The heavy bleeding can be due to uterine rupture.
