Yes, Metograf Am can cause edema. It is the most common side effects of this drug. Usually swelling occurs in feet and ankle. If these effects cause troublesome, then consult your doctor regarding whether this effect arises due to amlodipine consumption or not. If yes, then you can stop taking this medicine with the help of doctor because of alternate treatment are also available. However, it is dose-related effects if taken a low dose, chances of edema are very less if consuming high dose the chances of edema are high.
Yes, Metograf Am is safe to use, if taken in a prescribed amount for a specified time as advised by the doctor. However, few side effects are observed at regular doses such as palpitation, abdominal pain, sleepiness, swelling, and flushing. Do not hesitate to inform your doctor if you are facing any of the above.
Metograf Am comes in form of a tablet and ideally, it should be taken by mouth once daily as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with food or without food at any time of the day. Precautions must be taken in patients with liver disease, diabetes, and hypothyroidism.
Rarely, Metograf Am causes arrhythmia (Irregular heartbeat). However, if you experience any fluctuation in heart rate after consuming this drug, please inform to a doctor and follow his/her instructions.
