Yes, sometimes Hibesor might cause cough reflex. It occurs due to bronchoconstrictive (narrowing of the airways) effect of this drug. It is a rare side effect of this drug. If you are experiencing excessive coughing after taking this drug then you are advised to consult with your doctor.
Rarely, Hibesor causes depression. However, the exact cause of depression is not known. If you experiencing insomnia, persistent feeling of sadness, loss of appetite, loss of interest in activities which are symptoms of depression then you are advised to discuss it with your doctor without any further delay.
Hibesor contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
Yes, Hibesor and enalapril can be taken together. No clinically significant drug interaction has been reported between them. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug along with enalapril then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
Take Hibesor once or twice in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because of the presence of food does not affect its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, and improper liver or kidney function.
