Interaction between Alcohol and Esci
Consumption of alcohol and Esci together may have severe effects on your health.
Ideally, Esci should be taken once in a day at any time or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with the food or without the food as food. Precautions must be taken in patients with heart diseases, mania, and improper liver or kidney function.
Patients who are suffering from major depressive disorder may experience a change in behaviour, suicidal and self-inflicting thought whether they are taking Esci or not and this risk may remain till significant remission of depression. Esci contains escitalopram which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that works by inhibiting the reuptake (reabsorption) of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) serotonin which is presumed to be associated with the feeling of well-being and happiness. Low levels of serotonin in our brain cause low mood and depression. Inhibition of reuptake of serotonin by Esci results in its increased concentration in our brain which helps in elevating the mood.
