Dacazee Information

Dacazee, containing Dacarbazine, is a chemotherapy agent used in the treatment of various cancers, including malignant melanoma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is classified as an alkylating agent that interferes with the growth of cancer cells by damaging their DNA.

Uses

  • Malignant melanoma
  • Hodgkin's lymphoma (in combination therapy)
  • Soft tissue sarcomas (as off-label use in some cases)

Dacarbazine is metabolized in the liver to its active form, which functions as an alkylating agent. It attaches to the DNA strands in cancer cells, causing breaks and disrupting replication, ultimately leading to cell death.
