Cortipen, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Injection. It is primarily used for the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis. Other than this, Cortipen has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.
Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Cortipen. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.
Cortipen also has some side effects, the most common being Skin Rash, Facial swelling, Muscle cramps or spasms (painful). While these are the most often observed Cortipen side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. No research work has been carried out till date on effect of Cortipen on breastfeeding women. So it is not known whether taking Cortipen will cause side effects or not.

Cortipen can have moderate side effects on the kidney. If you notice any harmful effects, stop taking this drug right away. Consult your doctor before using this medicine again.
