Cita S is a brand name of escitalopram and it comes in the form of a tablet (solid unit dosage form). It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used for the treatment of depression (major depressive disorder) and anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder). It is also used in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.
For treatment of anxiety Cita S is usually given upto 8 weeks and for the treatment of depression, the duration of treatment may vary depending upon the severity of depression.
