Benzz is a chemotherapy medication used in the treatment of certain cancers, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). It belongs to the class of drugs known as alkylating agents and is available as an injection for intravenous use. Benzz works by damaging the DNA of cancer cells, which prevents them from dividing and leads to their destruction. This dual-action mechanism-alkylation and disruption of DNA repair pathways-makes it effective in targeting rapidly growing cancer cells.
Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, Fatigue and weakness, Low blood cell counts (anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia), Fever or increased susceptibility to infections, Skin reactions, such as rash.
Route of Administration: Intravenous infusion.
Dosage: The typical dose for CLL is 100 mg/m² on Days 1 and 2 of a 28-day cycle. For NHL, the dose is usually 120 mg/m² on Days 1 and 2 of a 21-day cycle.
The dosage and number of cycles depend on the patient’s condition, response to therapy, and overall health.
