Barohexy is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. It is primarily used for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease.
The optimal dosage of Barohexy is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.
The most common side effects of Barohexy are Dry Mouth, Nausea or vomiting. Apart from the aforementioned side effects, Barohexy can also lead to other problems, which have been listed below. Such side effects of Barohexy normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

Yes, Barohexy is safe to use, if taken in prescribed amount and duration as advised by the doctor. No, Barohexy does not cause hair loss (alopecia). It has not been reported by the patients who are taking this drug. However, if you are experiencing excessive hair loss after taking this drug then it might be due to some other reason.
Barohexy contains trihexyphenidyl which is an anticholinergic drug that works through correcting the chemical imbalance in the brain by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (neurotransmitter acetylcholine). Blockage of acetylcholine actions results in relaxation of smooth muscles which helps in improving the muscle control and reducing stiffness. In this way, Barohexy provides relief to the patient from the symptoms of parkinsonism.
Usually, in starting of the treatment Barohexy is given once a day then its dosage is gradually increased as per the need. You are advised to take it as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but if you experience stomach upset then take it with food. Precautions must be taken in patients with high blood pressure (hypertension), heart disease, and improper liver or kidney function.
