Rarely, B P Norm causes depression. However, the exact cause of depression is not known. If you experiencing insomnia, persistent feeling of sadness, loss of appetite, loss of interest in activities which are symptoms of depression then you are advised to discuss it with your doctor without any further delay.
Yes, B P Norm may cause drowsiness (sleepiness). It is a common side effect of this drug. If you experience drowsiness after taking this drug, then you are advised not to drive any vehicle or operate any machinery to avoid accidental injury.
B P Norm contains atenolol which is presumed to work through multiple mechanisms. It reduces blood pressure and slows down the fast heartbeat by blocking the influx of calcium ions and binding to certain receptors (beta-adrenoceptors) in the smooth muscles of heart which prevent the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline that also contributes in decreasing myocardial (heart) oxygen demand.
Yes, B P Norm and amlodipine can be taken together only on your doctor's advice. B P Norm give synergistic effect when taken along with amlodipine. However, if you feel any discomfort after taking this drug along with amlodipine then do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
