Rarely, Atecard D causes joint pain. Its incident is not known. However, if you experience intense joint pain after taking this drug then you are advised to take some rest even after that it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Take Atecard D once or twice in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food because of the presence of food does not affect its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, and improper liver or kidney function.
No, Atecard D should not be discontinued without doctors advice even when you start feeling well because suddenly discontinuing of this drug can cause chest pain, irregular heartbeat, and heart attack. Hence you are advised to always consult a doctor before discontinuing this medicine.
Atecard D is a brand name of atenolol and it is available in the form of a tablet. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of drug known as beta-blockers (beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoreceptor blocking agent). It is used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure), chronic stable angina (chest pain) and acute myocardial infarction.
