Alcloxd is a brand name for amoxicillin. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called penicillin antibiotic. It is used in the treatment of the number of bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, gonorrhea, and infection of ear, nose, throat, skin, urinary tract. It is also used in combination with other antibiotic medications such as clarithromycin to treat stomach ulcer caused by Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
Yes, Alcloxd can be taken with ibuprofen. No drug-drug interaction has been reported between them. However, if you experience any unpleasant or unwanted effects after consuming these two medicines at the same time then inform the doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Discontinuing Alcloxd on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor before discontinuing medicine on your own.
