Revidox LB is a brand name for doxycycline. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called tetracycline. It is available in different dosage forms such as tablet, capsule, syrup, and cream. Revidox LB is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial as well as protozoal infection. It is used in the treatment of various type of infections such as pneumonia, respiratory tract infection, rickettsial infections, sexually transmitted infections, ophthalmic infections, anthrax including inhalational anthrax, and prophylaxis of malaria. It is also used in combination with other medications to treat acne and pimples. Sometimes Revidox LB is also used as an alternative treatment for selected infections when penicillin is contraindicated.
Discontinuing Revidox LB in between may promote resistance to bacteria which may result in a relapse of the infection.
