Aclovir should be taken by mouth 1 - 2 times in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but it is preferred to take with a meal to avoid stomach upset. The topical cream should be applied gently on the affected area 5 - 6 times in a day or as advised by your doctor. After applying Aclovir, gently rub the cream till fully absorbed, then wash your hands. Precautions must be taken in patients with neurological abnormalities, and improper liver or kidney function.
