Interaction between Alcohol and Acefenac SP

Yes, the risk of a heart disease increases with the intake of Acefenac SP, especially during a long-term use, in comparison to those people who do not use Acefenac SP. The drug should be avoided if you have had a history heart attack or cardiac ailments. You must inform your doctor if someone in your family had a heart attack or a stroke, if you smoke, or if you have ever had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Call for the emergency help right away if you experience slurred speech, shortness of breath, chest pain or weakness in one side of the body.
Acefenac SP is available in the form of a tablet, chewable tablet, suspension and drops, and syrup. Prescription Acefenac SP is taken every 4 to 6 hours for arthritis and pain. Adults and children older than 12 years may take non-prescription Acefenac SP every 4 to 6 hours. Children and infants may be given Acefenac SP every 6 to 8 hours. It is important to take Acefenac SP with food or milk so as to prevent stomach upset. If you are taking Acefenac SP every day, remember to take it at the same time. Acefenac SP is also available in combination with other drugs for treating cold and cough. If you have prescribed a combination containing Acefenac SP, do not take any non-prescription drug containing Acefenac SP as it might cause overdosage. Shake the drops and suspensions well before use.
Acefenac SP is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used for the treatment of tenderness, swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with osteoarthritis in which there is a breakdown of the lining of the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis in which there is swelling of the lining of the joints. It is also used for alleviation of the menstrual pain, before and during the menstrual cycle. It is also used to relieve fever and pain associated with a headache, minor aches, sprains, common cold, toothache, and backache. It also shows the antiplatelet effect which means it prevents the formation of blood clots. Acefenac SP is used for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (a chronic skin disease causing scaling and swelling), gouty arthritis (which develops from the built up of some chemical in the joints) and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects the spine).
