Yes, Escipra has been reported to cause temporary hairloss but this occurs very rarely. It is a known side effect of this drug. This hairloss is temporary in nature and hair growth is restored after discontinuation of this drug. You are advised to inform your doctor and take prevention methods to stop hairfall as much as possible during the course of this drug.
No, Escipra is not an antipsychotic drug. It contains escitalopram which belongs to the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used for the treatment of depression (major depressive disorder) and anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder). It is also used in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.
