Interaction between Alcohol and Psyvir
Chances of side effects of drinking alcohol while taking Psyvir are low. If you feel any adverse effects, please seek medical advice as soon as possible.
No, Psyvir does not cause low blood pressure (hypotension). It has not been reported by the patients who are taking this drug. If you are experiencing lightheadedness or blurry vision which are symptoms of low blood pressure after taking this drug then try to sit down and rest for a while till restored normal blood pressure.
Psyvir contains acyclovir. It works by preventing the DNA synthesis and replication of the virus. It interferes with DNA polymerase enzyme which is essential for the virus to synthesize DNA that helps in replicating the virus. In this way Psyvir ensures eradication of viral infection from the body.
Rarely, Psyvir causes fatigue. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause of fatigue is not known. If you experience tiredness after taking this drug, then try to take some rest even after that if you feel excessive tiredness then do discuss it with your doctor.
Yes, Psyvir is safe to use, if taken in a prescribed amount for a specified time as advised by the doctor. However, few side effects have been observed at the regular dose such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not hesitate to inform your doctor if you are facing any of the above side effects.
Psyvir should be taken by mouth 1 - 2 times in a day or as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but it is preferred to take with a meal to avoid stomach upset.
