Yes, Cacef can be taken for a cough, if it is associated with infection caused by bacteria. However, if a cough gets severe and does not subside after taking this drug. Do consult a doctor for the right treatment.
Cacef and doxycycline can be taken together, as there are no reported harmful interactions between them. However, it doesn't mean that no interactions exist between them. Please take if prescribed by a doctor.
Discontinuing Cacef in between may promote resistance to bacteria which may result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief.
