Bd-Letro, containing the active ingredient Letrozole, is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It works by decreasing estrogen levels, which helps slow or reverse the growth of estrogen-sensitive tumors.
Adjuvant Treatment of Breast Cancer: Early-stage hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Extended Adjuvant Treatment: After standard tamoxifen therapy.
Advanced Breast Cancer: First-line treatment for hormone receptor-positive or unknown metastatic breast cancer.
Letrozole inhibits the enzyme aromatase, responsible for converting androgens into estrogens. By lowering estrogen levels, it helps reduce the growth of estrogen-dependent cancer cells.

Treatment duration depends on the individual’s response and clinical condition, often continuing until disease progression.

Bd-Letro contains letrozole that works in breast cancer by blocking an enzyme (aromatase) which prevents the conversion of androgens (androstenedione and testosterone) to estrogens (estrone and estradiol) due to this levels of estrogen hormones drop in the body. The decrease in hormone levels leads to a reduction in tumor mass or delays the progression of tumor growth in some women. For an ovulation (infertility), it is presumed that Bd-Letro works by increasing the sensitivity of ovary to follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) and also low level of estrogen hormones in the blood is detected by the brain which in turn increases the production of a follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) which causes induction of ovulation.
Take Bd-Letro once daily or as advised by your doctor. It has been taken with or without food because the presence of food does not affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in patients with osteoporosis, fracture, and improper liver function.
