Interaction between Alcohol and Aliveon
Due to lack of research, nothing can be said about side effects of consuming alcohol while taking Aliveon.
Aliveon regulates the levels of cholesterol by impeding its absorption through the intestine and by breaking the cholesterol molecules. Because of this reason, it is used to treat gallstones non surgically.
Aliveon belongs to the class of compounds called bile acids and salts. Ursodiol is a bile acid which is used for the management of gallstones and primary liver diseases. It also prevents the formation of gallstones in people who are rapidly losing weight.
Aliveon is taken orally, usually 2 to 3 times for managing the gallstones and twice for preventing the formation of gallstones in people who lose weight quickly. Aliveon should be taken strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
Aliveon is usually not associated with lower abdomen pain. But one must not ignore lower abdomen pain as lower abdomen pain could be an indication of undissolved gallstones and other underlying medical conditions. Take a mild painkiller and if the pain does not subside then seek medical attention without any further delay.
No, Aliveon does not cause itching. In fact, it is used for the alleviation of itching in pregnant women who suffer from intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. (A disease in which flow of bile from the liver stops or slowdowns). However, any visible rashes or discomfort experienced while taking this drug to inform your gynecologist and follow his/her instructions. Do not discontinue the medicinal course on your own.
