Tricolam Information

Tricolam is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Amebiasis. The alternative uses of Tricolam have also been explained below.

The optimal dosage of Tricolam is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Dosage also depends on the route of administration and your chief complaint for which the drug is prescribed. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

Besides the aforementioned side effects, there are other adverse effects of Tricolam as well, which are listed below. Usually, these side effects of Tricolam go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

Furthermore, you should know that effect of Tricolam is Moderate for pregnant women and Moderate for women who are breastfeeding. In addition, Tricolam's effects on the liver, heart and kidney are discussed below in the Tricolam related warnings section.

No, Tricolam is not used for treating yeast infection.Tricolam is used for the treatment of trichomoniasis caused by T. vaginalis, in both the genders. It is also used for the treatment of giardiasis caused by G. duodenalis, and intestinal amebiasis and amebic liver abscess caused by E. histolytica, in adults as well as children older than 3 years. Antifungal medicines (fluconazole) are used to treat yeast infection.
