Pnx is not an antacid. It is proton pump inhibitor which reduce the excess acid in the stomach.
Yes, Pnx can be taken with Zantac. Both medicines work by reducing the acid secretion in the stomach which helps in relieving acidity. No harmful drug interactions have been reported between them. However, please consult your doctor before taking the two medicines together.
This is because long-term use of Pnx can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acids which are required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Yes, Pnx can be taken with sucralfate, take it at least 30 minutes before consuming sucralfate. If you experience any unwanted side effects after taking these two medicines at the same time then inform the doctor immediately and follow his/her instructions.
