Yes, NC Derm Plus is a steroid. It contains clobetasol which is a potent corticosteroid. It should not be confused with anabolic-androgenic steroids which are used by some bodybuilders without prescription to build muscle mass.
NC Derm Plus contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way NC Derm Plus prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
