Yes, Diucontin K reduces the blood pressure. It works by increasing the rate of urine formation by inhibiting the sodium and potassium reabsorption from the kidney, this leads to decrease in blood volume and blood pressure which provides relief from swelling and high blood pressure to the patient.

Yes, Diucontin K can cause headache, this occurs rarely. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, the exact cause behind this is unknown. If you experience a severe headache after taking this drug, consider taking a mild painkiller, applying balms and complete rest. Even if the pain does not subside then discuss with your doctor immediately.

Diucontin K is used to provide relief from swelling and high blood pressure. It is not used to provide relief from bloating (swollen belly after eating food which might be caused by excessive gas production). If you are experiencing bloating caused by food then try eating slowly, chew your food completely. Take fibre rich food also try to eat food in less quantity at a time. Taking probiotics or digestive enzyme supplements might be helpful in reducing bloating.

Ideally, a tablet has to be taken once daily. It can be taken anytime but you are advised to take it in the morning because it causes more frequent urination which can disturb your sleep in the night. It can be taken with food or without food but it is better to take it with food to avoid stomach upset.
