However, the exact cause behind skin discoloration is not known but it is more likely to occur if the skin is covered with a dressing after applying this drug. Clobevent GM contains clobetasol which is presumed to work by promoting the induction of inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) in the body. Lipocortins prevents the release of arachidonic acid which causes synthesis and release of certain chemicals such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that causes inflammation. In this way Clobevent GM prevents the skin inflammation which provides relief to the patient from rash, itching, and redness.
Clobevent GM is used for the short-term treatment up to 2 weeks and if required then maximum up to 4 weeks. You are advised to use it as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine longer than prescribed by your doctor to avoid the unpleasant side effect.
