Macpred is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. Ulcerative Colitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis are some of its major therapeutic uses. Macpred also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.
Medical history of the patient along with age and gender determines the dosage of Macpred. The condition it has been prescribed for, and the route of administration also determine the right dosage. This information has been provided in detail in the dosage section.
Macpred also has some side effects, the most common being Agitation, Anxiety, Blurred vision. While these are the most often observed Macpred side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Usually, these side effects of Macpred go away soon, and do not persist beyond the duration of the treatment. Please speak with your doctor if these side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.
In addition, Macpred's effect is Moderate during pregnancy and Moderate for lactating mothers. It is important to know if Macpred has any effect on the kidney, liver and heart. Information on such adverse effects, if any, has been given in the Macpred related warnings section.
Macpred is not recommended if you suffer from certain medical conditions as it can have adverse effects. Tuberculosis (TB), Infections, Peptic Ulcer are examples of such conditions. Other conditions have been mentioned below in the Macpred contraindications section.
