Zelor is a brand name for lorazepam. It is a controlled prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepine. It is short-acting potent anxiolytic. It used for the treatment of status epilepticus and insomnia (sleeplessness). It is also used for the treatment of anxiety and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks).
