The dosage of V Flex may vary from case to case as it depends on the type of infection and severity of the infection. You are recommended to take this drug as per your doctor's instructions. It should be taken with or without food because the presence of food does not have any effect on its absorption from the stomach. Precautions must be taken in patients with a history of penicillin allergy, colitis, and impaired kidney function.
V Flex contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. V Flex is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Yes, V Flex causes nausea and vomiting in a few cases only. It is a rare side effect of this drug. For relief from nausea and vomiting, you are advised to take lime water, avoid eating spicy food even if it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor.
Yes, V Flex has been reported to cause diarrhoea. It is a common side effect of this drug. Drink plenty of fluids while you are taking this medicine. If you are experiencing severe diarrhoea after taking this drug, consult your doctor immediately without any further delay.
