Picopil, a prescription drug, is manufactured in various forms such as Syrup. It is primarily used for the treatment of Constipation.

The optimal dosage of Picopil is largely dependent on the individual's body weight, medical history, gender and age. Individual symptoms and route of administration also determines the right dosage. Detailed information has been provided in the dosage section.

The most common side effects of Picopil are Diarrhoea, Stomach Upset, Stomach cramps. While these are the most often observed Picopil side effects, there are can be others also. These have been listed below. Such side effects of Picopil normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.

It is also important to note that Picopil has a Mild effect for pregnant women and Safe effect on lactating mothers. It is important to know if Picopil has any effect on the kidney, liver and heart. Picopil can cause adverse effects in certain medical conditions. It is strongly recommended to avoid Picopil in conditions like Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea (Loose Motions), Gastrointestinal Bleeding.
