Take Alpicno 1-2 times in a day or as advised by your doctor. Alpicno should be taken without food because the presence of food might affect the absorption of this drug from the stomach. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this drug to stay well hydrated.
Yes, Alpicno might be taken for fecal impaction. Scientific studies have found that Alpicno is useful in fecal impaction when used along with polyethylene glycol (PEG). Since it is a prescription drug you are advised to consult with your doctor first before taking Alpicno for fecal impaction by yourself.
Alpicno contains sodium picosulfate which is a stimulant laxative. It works by directly acting on the intestines which result in increased peristalsis movement. It also softens the stools by drawing water into the bowel from the intestinal lumen.
