Interaction between Alcohol and Pantoseal
Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol while taking Pantoseal as it can have severe side effects.
Take Pantoseal as long as your doctor has recommended you to take it. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Consult your doctor if there is no symptomatic relief.
This is because long-term use of Pantoseal can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Stomach acids help in the absorption of Vitamin B 12, and this drug suppresses stomach acids which are required for the absorption of vitamin B12. Hence patients taking [medicine] for a long time have Vitamin B12 deficiency. To replenish Vitamin B12 in your body your doctor prescribes this vitamin along with this medicine.
Yes, Pantoseal can be taken with sucralfate, take it at least 30 minutes before consuming sucralfate. If you experience any unwanted side effects after taking these two medicines at the same time then inform the doctor immediately and follow his/her instructions.
Avoid taking Pantoseal with levothyroxine because it delays the absorption of levothyroxine and also effects the efficacy of levothyroxine. Please seek guidance from your doctor regarding taking these two medicines together.
Pantoseal is not an antacid. It is proton pump inhibitor which reduce the excess acid in the stomach.
