Interaction between Alcohol and Oriphex Tablet
Due to lack of research, nothing can be said about side effects of consuming alcohol while taking Oriphex Tablet.
Oriphex contains cefalexin which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It works by preventing the cell wall synthesis in bacteria by binding to specific proteins (penicillin-binding proteins). The cell wall protects the bacteria from the environment, in the absence of this cell wall, the bacteria becomes vulnerable and dies. Oriphex is effective against a wide range of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
No, Oriphex is not recommended for the tooth infection. Hence, it should not be taken for the treatment of tooth infection.
No, Oriphex does not cover anaerobes because Oriphex is a first-generation cephalosporin which is resistant against anaerobes.
