Opthodex N is not a pain-killer. It is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of drug called aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used to treat various types of bacterial infections and hepatic encephalopathy.
Opthodex N is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by stopping the production of proteins that bacteria need to survive. It is effective against different types of bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenza, Proteus species, S. aureus, and Serratia species. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is generally resistant.
No, Opthodex N does not cause seizures. However, if you are experiencing seizures after taking this drug, then consult your doctor immediately without any further delay.
Discontinuing Opthodex N on your own can increase the chances of bacterial resistance and infection relapse. It is recommended that you always consult your doctor if you have decided to discontinue this medicine.
